Guatapé is a municipality of Colombia, located in the Eastern subregion of the department of Antioquia, on the central mountain range of Colombia. Founded by Francisco Giraldo y Jiménez, surrounded by other neighboring municipalities such as: Alejandría, San Rafael, San Carlos, El Peñol. Its head is 79 kilometers from the city of Medellín, capital of the department of Antioquia.
